A Busy End to Spring 1 in Reception

The last few weeks in Reception were very busy! We had some more special visitors sharing their memories of the past. A big thank you to Samuel's Grandad, Flo's Grandma and Lucy's Aunty and Uncle! They told us about school life and home life and how things have changed.

We shared stories about old toys and heard about the adventures of 'Old Bear' and his friends. We decided to have a teddy bears picnic with our favourite teddies. We had to write invitations to make sure they came and we made biscuits to share with them!   

We also had a day celebrating Chinese New Year! 

 Lastly, we had an 'Elves and the Shoemaker' role play. We made clothes for the tiny elves, practiced our sewing skills and enjoyed trying on the shoes that the elves had made for us. We imagined that we had a pair of 'magic shoes' and talked about where they might take us. We coloured in our shoes and did some independent writing about our ideas. We had some amazing shoes!
