Adventure days

On Monday 21st September we had a visit from Mel Holmes.  Mel took us for a walk to  Whitley Woods.  We had a great time using our maps and learning how to understand the different features of a map.  We learnt how to find hills and valleys on a map and how the contours tell us how steep the hill is.  

From the top of the hill we could see out into the countryside.  We looked for all the different  things we could see and then created our own pictures using pastels.  

We had a fabulous time exploring and collecting seeds, leaves and sticks before we came back to school for lunch.
