Celebrations!

Date: 2nd Dec 2021 @ 2:59pm

Duck class have been busy celebrating this half term! After learning all about Diwali, we then focused on Bonfire night. Children painted their own fireworks pictures and did some fantastic writing about firework noises. We talked about how we celebrate Bonfire night with our families and compared this to how people celebrate Diwali. People celebrate both festivals with fireworks and by eating special food. After this, we spent some time learning about Remembrance Day. We talked about how this was a very different celebration to our other special events. Children made their own poppies as we remembered those who died in the war. Last week was all about birthdays, which was good timing as we have been celebrating a couple of children's birthdays in class the past couple of weeks! Children made their own play dough birthday cakes and had fun in the home corner role playing birthday parties. We learnt all about how birthdays are celebrated in different countries across the world and children decided which was was their favourite. Stay tuned for our next celebration!
