D & T fun with Y4

The Y4s have been learning about electricity this half term , so we decided to design a child's night light as part of D and T. First we thought about a few ideas and did some sketches. We also thought about how the switch would work, and how we could get a light bulb wired inside. We went on to refine our designs, and then got on with making them. Some of us stuck to our designs, whilst others were inspired by the resources and made some amendments. We had a great, sticky afternoon, with lots of amazing, unique lamps. We are planning on adding the circuits tomorrow so watch this space for more photos.

Update! Today we created our circuits, including the switches we made, and put them in our lamps. They looked amazing! We then evaluated our designs - could we have done it better? Would we do it differently next time? Have a look at the photos of the finished night lights.
