Duckling Diaries: Day 3

Date: 12th May 2022 @ 12:09pm

Monday was a very exciting day in Duck class as we had a special delivery of duck eggs! We have waited patiently for them to hatch over the last couple of days. When we arrived at school this morning, one of the eggs had a crack in it and we could see some shuffling inside. The children were glued to the incubator for most of the morning, watching as the little hatchling popped it's bill in and out of the shell. At lunchtime, the duckling hatched out of the egg and came to meet us! The children were very excited to meet our first duckling. We talked about what to call the duckling and after a series of votes we decided on Moustache! The children were busy making cards for Moustache to welcome him into our class and building duckling enclosures for the rest of the afternoon. By the end of the day a second egg had a crack in it and so we are looking forward to what might happen tomorrow.
