Mini Clifford

Date: 7th May 2020 @ 4:08pm

At Mini-Clifford this week we have had a space week!

We started the week by looking at the size of all the planets in the solar system and their distance from the sun. We researched their diameter and then made a scale to create our own planets. We decided that for every 1000km, we would measure 1cm. The measuring was much trickier than we orginally thought as the planets are HUGE! We measured our planets using our scale, cut them out and decorated them together.

We created fact files about the different planets and made some beautiful pieces of artwork using paint, Brusho and watercolours. We also used junk modelling resources to create our own rockets. They were amazing (one was even shaped like a pineapple!)

Towards the end of the week, the weather got warmer so we were able to play outside more. We built a den, created some new games using the playground equipment and set each other sports challenges.

We have had a fantastic week at Mini-Clifford. We have displayed all our work in the school hall and it looks beautiful. Well done to all our Clifford children this week. We are incredibly proud of you all and we have really enjoyed seeing all the amazing things you have been doing.

We miss you! Stay safe and take care,

The Clifford Team
