Mini Clifford

Date: 15th May 2020 @ 4:14pm

At Mini-Clifford this week, we have been looking at minibeasts!

We begun the week by thinking about the question, what is a minibeast? We discussed together the minibeasts that we would like to research further, and create 3D models of. We made a 3D spider's web, many spiders, a dragonfly and a butterfly. To create smaller minibeast models, we used Fimo clay (see if you can spot them on our beautiful display). We also found out facts about them, created PowerPoints and labelled the different parts.

Did you know...

A dragonfly has fantastic vision, and has the biggest eyes out of all the insects?

Spiders eat millions of tonnes of insects and bugs every year?

Butterflies need to stay cold and dry when hibernating?

We also made some pop-up insect cards by folding a piece of card and cutting out rectangles, starting at the folded line. We then pushed out the pieces we had cut and stuck on our insects.

Well done to all our amazing Clifford children this week. We miss you all and are really enjoying seeing all the kind, creative things you have been doing. We are really proud of all your hard work.

Stay safe and take care,

The Clifford Team
