Pizza Chefs!

Duck class had a fantastic morning on their trip to Pizza Express! When we arrived, we talked about how important it is to stay safe and clean in the kitchen. The children washed their hands and suited up in hats and aprons. We learnt about the famous ingredients in a margherita pizza before having a go at making one ourselves. The children did a super job pressing down the dough, spreading the passata sauce and sprinkling on the cheese. Whilst we waited for our pizzas to cook, the children took part in a tasting session. The children had the option of tasting red, yellow and green tomatoes, pepperoni, anchiovies and even spicy pepper! Pepperoni was definitely the most popular choice. When our pizzas had finished cooking, we walked back to school. All of the EYFS staff were so proud of how sensibly the children walked to and from school. Their behaviour was excellent today.

Back at school, it was time to share our special meal together. We talked about different celebrations when we might share food with friends and family. As we have been learning about Diwali this week, we lit our diya lamps and then enjoyed our food together. The pizzas were so delicious, some children ate their entire pizza! We had such a lovely day together and the children are now qualified junior pizza chefs!
