Reception Learning and Fun

What a busy start we have had to the school year in Reception! We have been busy with all kinds of fun learning activities. We have started our weekly dance and rugby lessons and we have enjoyed reading many new books including Percy the Park Keeper, The Jolly Postman, The Gingerbread Man and other traditional tales. We have also been learning  new action songs and rhymes. 

We are now enjoying daily phonics lessons. You can find more information about phonics if you scroll down this page. In Maths we are learning how to count to 10, identify shapes and find 1 less than a number, among many other things. We have also been developing our speaking, listening and communication skills. 

Each day in Reception is generally very busy and jam-packed so we thought you might like to have a look at some photos of the interesting and fun things we have been doing in our first few weeks of school.
