Sunny Seaside

Duck class had a fabulous day on Friday when we took a trip to the seaside! The excitement began as soon as we boarded the coach with children spotting familiar places to them. When we arrived at Cleethorpes we got settled on the beach and enjoyed our snack and some time playing with our beach toys. We then split into groups to do a range of activities. We explored the differences between dry sand and wet sand, discovering that wet sand was best for making sandcastles. We went on a beach hunt to search for different seaside objects and we managed to find them all! We used our senses to talk about what we could hear, see, smell and feel and then talked about how Cleethorpes is different to Sheffield. The children were able to think about similarities and differences between the two places. All of the children really enjoyed going for a paddle in the sea! After playing on the beach some more we finished the day with an ice cream. The children were absolutely fantastic all day, all of the staff were so proud of how they represented Clifford school.
