Y1's chemistry investigation - What happens when we add salt to water?

It's brilliant to be back in Y1! We had a fascinating day today doing science and focusing particularly on chemistry. We discovered how amazing water is! It can be solid, liquid, or gas, and it can be a hot gas (steam) or a cold one (water vapour)... amazing!  We made some beautiful paper snowflakes, and then we did an experiment where we dissolved salt in water. Do you think it dissolved quicker in hot water or cold water? Next we used our  saturated salt solution to cover our snowflakes. We will leave them for a few days and hopefully we will see crystals forming!
