Y1's trip to Bolsover Castle

Date: 2nd Oct 2018 @ 3:35pm

We had an amazing day today at Bolsover Castle. First we explored the little castle, where we gazed at the stars on the ceiling, admired the paintings on the walls, looked up at the lantern window, and all the time we were looking out for different shapes - we found lots of rectangles but spotting squares was a bit tricky! Some of us also dressed up and stood on the stage in the little castle, imagining we were kings, queens, knights and ladies. We also explored the beautiful gardens which we thought were similar to Alice's garden in Alice in Wonderland. We wandered through the equestrian centre and had a chance to pose for photos with a wooden horse.  After lunch we explored the ruins, pretended to be galloping horses, climbed up to the walls and walked a circuit in the blustery wind, and finally we had a play on the amazing adventure playground. What a busy, brilliant day!
