Y2 Artists Day

On Monday, Y2 had a day of being artists. We went to the city centre to sketch some architecture and features - we did line drawings at the Cathedral and the peace gardens. Some groups went to the Montgomery art exhibition and some to the John Ruskin at the galleries. We all have lunch together in the winter gardens before spending the afternoon with the staff at the Grave's Art Gallery looking at portraits through the ages - from Victorian posing to portraits to profiles. The children (and staff) learnt lots of new things about how to approach drawing, and we tried a variety of different materials. Super behaviour, and a fabulous day!
