Y2 Literacy

Today in Y2 we started our topic of Beauty and the Beast. After recapping part of the story, we decided that Belle must have felt so lonely when the other people were being so mean to her and what she needed was a good friend to help and support her. We started thinking and listing the qualities of a good friend. The children came up with some fantastic ideas, for example somebody who was attentive (fantastic word from one of our Y2's!), generous and enthusiastic. As we were looking at fairy tales and the magic within them we decided to make a potion full of the characteristics we needed for a good friend. As the weather was absolutely beautiful at school today we decided to take our writing outside. We can't wait to show you our potions on our 'Once Upon a Time' board on Friday! Excellent work Y2!
