Y4 - Guinea Pig Gig - 2 part playing

We are exceptionally proud of our Y4's and the progress they have made in recorder this term. This is the 3rd year they have been learning the instrement (every child in our school has their own insturment, as we really do believe music is for all!).

In Y2, we teach the basic notes, in Y3 we start working on call and reponse / 2 part playing and extending the note range. In Y4 we can now play accidentals (this piece includes Fsharp) and have well over an octave of notes. This term we have learnt 2 2-part songs, Cool Cat and Guinea Pig Gig.

We also love the range of instruments, many of our children have moved onto treble / tenor recorders, fifes and flutes which fit well in whole class recorder lessons.

In the new year we're going to be moving onto an orchestral project before our collaboration with Endcliffe orchestra and our whole school trip to the Halle. What a privelge it is to work in a school where music is truly valued and invested in.
