Y5 Ecclesall Woods Trip

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic day at the Ecclesall Woods Discovery Centre. The children learnt to make fires with a fire striker and built shelters to prepare them for outdoor adventures.Our  school values of teamwork and action were definitely in place as they worked together! After a picnic in the dens they had made  , we took a walk in to the woods for a very creative afternoon. The children made artwork in the style of Andy Goldsworthy, using leaves , stones and anything they could find that represented nature. After, they learnt the Hapazone technique to create pressed leaf artwork on fabric. We were blessed with the most wonderful weather which made the local walk really enjoyable , a super day had by all!
