Cultural Awareness Week

Date: 26th Nov 2020 @ 10:39am

Cultural awareness week was very different this year but we still had a good time.  We started the week by discussing British values and the rule of law.  Some of us even had a go at deciding on a policy to see if we would be elected as Prime Minister!

Then we looked at lots of different people from all around the world who were special and had made a difference.  These included Marcus Rashford and his campaign for free school meals,  Malala Yousafzai and her campaign for an education for girls and Capt Thomas Moore and his walk for the NHS.

We also looked at the poem by Benjamin Zephaniah called The British and how he wrote it like a recipe.  We felt inspired and wrote our own poems about what makes a successful school.  One quote for the question on what did you like about the poem was "I liked it when Benjamin Zephaniah said all the ingredients should be treated equally"
