Day 5: Caring for the Chicks

All ten of our chicks are now living in the brooder box and have made themselves at home! The children did a great job taking care of them today. We had to take out the dirty bedding and put clean bedding in, give the chicks a bowl of food and some fresh water. We have to do this in the morning and again just before home time. 

It's been a fantastic week in Reception class, the children have been so excited and we've had some fantastic conversations about the chicks. The children have been busy writing, drawing and making and it's been lovely to see how the chicks have inspired them. We look forward to another fun filled week next week!
