Haiku competition for Y4

Date: 5th May 2021 @ 9:26am

Last week we learnt about Haikus. A Haiku is a type of Japanese poem, with three lines in the form of 5,7,5 syllables. We wrote Haikus about the River Porter, either thinking about its sparkling water running over the land, or about how much of it goes underground in deep, dark, tunnels. We read our Haikus out in class, and an X-Factor style judging panel whittled them down to the best ten. Miss Wood had the final say, and we have 5 Haikus to enter into a competition run by The Sheaf and Porter Valley Trust. The winning Haikus will be engraved on stainless steel and displayed along the Porter Valley Walk.
