Sheffield and Hong Kong: 'A Tale of Two Cities.'

Date: 10th Jul 2017 @ 10:04am

This week has been another of our High Focus Weeks.

One of the purposes of our High Focus Weeks is to 'make memories' for the children. My Dad once told me, 'Education is what you're left with when you've forgotten everything you've been taught.' I've always loved that phrase and I use it a lot in my teaching and my interactions with the children. I really believe the High Focus Weeks help us to teach the children team work, resilience and co-operation in a whole new way. These skills are not ever really measured or reported upon, yet they set our children up so well for life.

This week we have had a really memorable week.  We have worked across year groups, been on a Fountains Walk through Sheffield City Centre, used a variety of ICT, Art and DT to record all the things we have found out.

Every child has taken part in making an 'i-movie' of their group's journey around Sheffield. We will upload them in the next few days.

There are displays in the classroom and around school - please do come in and see the wonderful things we have been doing.
