Y5's trip to York

Date: 19th Jun 2023 @ 12:14pm

We had a fabulous day on our trip to York last week, exploring the city walls and looking at York as a settlement. The weather was perfect - sunny but with a gentle breeze - so we were able to take time out sketching and looking at the ancient buildings. We not only saw the amazing York Minster, with its new statue of our late Queen Elizabeth II, we also saw some evidence of Roman ruins, and a tower named the Clifford Tower! After a lot of walking we were very relieved to have a picnic in the shade in the park, followed by a wander around the fabulous railway museum. We saw  Stephenson's Rocket, the Japanese Bullet Train, as well as many other historical trains.
